What are microgreens?

Microgreens are amazing little veggies harvested at 7-12 days growth for maximum flavour, tenderness, and nutrition. A study by the University of Maryland in 2012 tested microgreens for several vitamins and found they contained 4 to 40 times more nutrients than their mature vegetable counterparts on a per weight basis. Plus, unlike mature vegetables, they require little to no processing during meal prep.  No more removing stems or chopping! Just grab a handful and add to salads, sandwiches, pasta, smoothies, and stir-fry for an easy and potent shot of vitamins and flavour. A truly easy way to get more vegetables into your daily routine!

Here at Haven Harvest, we grow our microgreens indoors, in soil using organic methods, at a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Whether it is in the midst of summer heat or during a blustery cold winter day, our vertical garden of microgreens stays in perfect condition for freshness. Whether it is for our direct sale subscribers, local restaurant chefs or at the farmers market, we harvest the greens within 24 hours (and often on the same day!) of delivery. It doesn't get much fresher than that! Why not try some today?
